Now we arrive at a real-life fairytale castle. Muiden Castle was built in 1295 by Count Floris V of Holland. Floris had purchased land on the tallest point in the region. The only problem was that the land actually belonged to someone else. The ruler of nearby Utrecht owned the land, and didn't like the idea of someone else taking it away from him!
