Num of views: 1019 The Emmen Zoo
This zoo is located in the city of Emmen. It is organized by continent, with each section featuring the unique native wildlife, vegetation, and natural surroundings of a different part of the world. In the Africa section, for example, you can watch hippopotamuses wallowing in the mud, zebras, giraffes, and many more fascinating animals. All the animals in the zoo have wide-open spaces to play and behave naturally as they would in the wild – the baboons groom one another, the lemurs enjoy their sunbaths, etc.

Here's a little of what the Haifa Educational Zoo has on its website: "The zoo contains more than one hundred kinds of animals, some of them rare, reptiles, birds, and mammals... all in more than 350 exhibits. Alongside the 'traditional' animals – tigers, bears, foxes, hyenas, different kinds of monkeys and herbivores – you'll see an impressive variety of snakes and lizards from Israel and all over the world." They have a petting zoo and crocodiles (Mom: No dear, we don't pet the crocodiles!) There's also a large playground right next to the zoo that's a lot of fun.

After visiting the park, we were pretty sure there wasn't another place like this in all of Israel. After visiting their website, we learned that there isn't another place like this anywhere in the world, except for Australia itself! Mischievous koalas, kangaroos (of course!) and other Australian animals all wander around free to approach you at their will. Learn all about the flying fox (turns out there is such a thing!) with amusing and engaging explanations. You can even feed the kangaroos and pet them in a special area. Lots more fun and surprises are waiting for you.
