Zaanse Schans is a village that recreates life as it was in the Netherlands in the past. This site contains numerous stations featuring a variety of different activities. Especially remarkable are the giant windmills – not only can you see them up close, but you can even step right inside them! Other activity stations allow you to, see how the famous Dutch clogs are made (and, of course, buy a pair!), learn all about how Dutch cheese is made as well as sneak a taste, and, for dessert, you can explore the chocolate factory. In addition to these activity stations, you can also enjoy the incredible scenery and magical atmosphere of this village. Highly recommended!
