Ah, Paris! The home of romance, love, and many a cheesy chat up line. Despite all that, Paris is actually a very family friendly kind of place to visit, with lots of attractions, famous and otherwise, to visit and explore.
Cities can seem a little boring to teenagers, because they’re under the false impression that it’s all art and culture, and no fun is there to be had. In Paris’ case, that would be a wrong assumption! Let’s take a look at some of the teenage-friendly activities you can indulge in during your time in the French capital.
Speedboat ride on the River Seine
Exactly what it says on the tin. This high energy, high adrenaline, and high fun activity will appeal to teenagers because it’s such a fun and different thing to do.
Sightseeing scooter tour
Checking out the famous sights of Paris on a scooter has to be more fun than doing it on foot! Of course you could go down the open top bus route, but I doubt your teen would be as thrilled as they would be on the back of a scooter! Guided tours are available, simply remember you need a valid driving licence and to wear a helmet at all times – both passenger and driver.
The nearby French home of Mickey Mouse et al is easily reached from the city by train, car or bus, and you can purchase one day tickets, or a bundle ticket quite cheaply. Once there, parades, shows, rides, dining experiences and characters will make your day fun. Everyone loves Disney, whether they want to admit it or not, and no matter how old they are! You can choose to stay over at one of the resort hotels, or simply visit for the day.
Musee Gourmand du Chocolat
Who doesn’t love chocolate? I’m yet to meet a teenager who doesn’t! This museum is where you can sample some of the best, and learn all about the history and where it came from. Something a little different.
A little like the scooter idea, but on a segway, this is perhaps a slightly more accessible way for teens to see more of the city.
Cliché? Yes, but come on, you can’t visit Paris and no go up the Eiffel Tower!
Aquarium de Paris
A great idea for slightly dodgy weather days, heading into the aquarium will be both educational and fun.
Paris is a city full of culture, and yes, you do have to go see the main sights, but this also goes to show that Paris has a fun, hipster side to it as well.
